This
course is aimed at intermediate to advanced users who need to understand,
modify and write Perl scripts to extract and process system and database
files.

completing this course participants will be able to:
- read write and modify Perl scripts,
- understand Perl data structures,
- understand Perl regular expressions,
- access and manipulate the filesystem,
- create sub-routines,
- input data and format output.

This
course is ideally suited for intermediate to advanced UNIX users,
system and database administrators and novice programmers who need
to process complex system and database files.

| Pre-Requisites: |
This
course is fast paced and participants should have:
- basic Unix knowledge would be advantageous,
- knowledge of a commonly available text editor such as vi,
- some programming/shell scripting experience - this is advantageous
but not essential. |
