Course Title:
Introduction to PL Generic Oracle® Forms Course Code:
STL-0R5
Course Description:
Interacting
with the Oracle database using either flavour of sqlplus is very basic
for most users. If you want snazzy graphics, menus, buttons, colours,
fonts and pictures then you have to use a better tool and in Oracle
this is Oracle Forms. This course covers the multitude of components
found in an Oracle Form plus how these components react with each
other. Using a form for simple interrogation of the database, or for
inserting new records is the essence of Oracle Forms. Fancy graphics
and fonts and styles are a bonus.
What You Will Achieve:
Comfort
with creating simple forms to be used for data-entry and data-update
purposes. An appreciation of the constraints which occur when running
forms via a web browser.
Who Should Attend:
Delegates already familiar with basic SQL and PL/SQL (the "triggers"
behind a form use PL/SQL code) who wish
to create more professional end-user access to database tables are
prime candidates for this course.
Pre-Requisites:
The
Forms tool uses SQL select, insert, update and delete to manipulate
records on the database. So a knowledge of these commands is essential
for this course. Similarly, behind the scenes the form uses PL/SQL
to perform various tasks, hence a comfort with PL/SQL is required
too.
