Course Title: Introduction to Oracle® Reports
Course Code: STL-0R4

Course Description: SQLPlus can do some basic reporting in Oracle, but for the full capabilities you need to use the proper tool which is Oracle Reports. This course can be applied to earlier versions of Oracle Reports (from version 2.5) but it is intended for those using 9i and beyond. The difference between the data model and the two separate layout areas (paper and web) is crucial to gaining a firm grasp of what Reports can do for you, and this course sacrifices explaining trivial detail to impart the "big picture" to the delegate (once you see the big picture, you can hang the detail on to that framework; if you only see detail then you can drown in it)

What You Will Achieve: Comfort with creating Reports and knowing the capabilities of the Reports tool.

Who Should Attend: Delegates already familiar with basic SQL and PL/SQL (the "triggers" behind a form use PL/SQL code) who wish to create more professional end-user access to database tables are prime candidates for this course.

Pre-Requisites: Introductory knowledge of SQL and Introductory knowledge of PL/SQL are required for this reports course. The Reports tool uses SQL to get the data which it will format. Also, the Report tool has the capability of using PL/SQL to format the report, so some basic knowledge of PL/SQL is required.
