| Course Description: | This course is aimed at intermediate to advanced users who need to automate system tasks, understand Bourne and Korn Shell scripts and to properly manage system shell scripts. | ||
| What You Will Achieve: | After
completing this course participants will be able to: - Read write and modify Bourne and Korn Shell scripts, - Create shell initialisation files, - Create interactive scripts, - Use conditional execution and loops, - Understand regular expressions, - Use advanced UNIX tools such as grep, sed and awk. |

| Pre-Requisites: | This
course is fast paced and participants should have: - Knowledge of a commonly available text editor such as vi. - Attended Essential UNIX - Part 1 and Part 2 or equivalent. - Some programming experience - this is advantageous but not essential. |
