course provides basic skills in the use of the UNIX operating system.
It introduces all the fundamental aspects of UNIX which are necessary
to enable new users to get to grips with the operating system efficiently
and quickly.

- login, create and maintain directories of files
- perform simple text file maintenance and editing
- manage file and directory security permissions
- utilise redirection and pipe operators
- utilise simple network commands.
