completing this course participants will be able to: - Install and configure Solaris 10® on a desktop machine. - Manage and troubleshoot system startup and shutdown. - Manage software packages and patches. - Configure disk devices and manage file systems. - Add/delete user and group accounts. - Maintain and monitor system security. - Automate and schedule system processes. - Configure local and remote printer services. - Back up and restore system and user data. |

| Who Should Attend: | This course is designed for intermediate UNIX users, system and database administrators and programmers who will be performing essential system administration procedures on a Solaris 10 OE. | ||
| Pre-Requisites: | This course
is technical and fast paced and delegates should have: - Attended the Essential UNIX Part I and Part II courses. - Understand basic Solaris commands. - Understand basic shell features such as piping and redirection. - Be able to interact with a window system like CDE or Gnome. - Knowledge of a commonly available text editor such as vi. - Some shell scripting experience - this is advantageous but not essential. |
